The North Fremont Huskies were like a snowball rolling down a steep hill in 2020. With each passing week, that snowball gained more momentum.

The Class 2A state championship game seemed destined to be a clash of unbeaten titans West Side and North Fremont. The Huskies took a perfect 8-0 record into their semifinal showdown with conference rival Firth, a team the Huskies had defeated earlier three weeks earlier 22-6.

Ironically enough, it was an unusually early-for-the-season blizzard that ultimately stopped that North Fremont snowball in 2021. Leading 6-0 late in the game, North Fremont fumbled. Firth's Taedyn Jacobsen scooped it up and raced 87 yards for the game-tying touchdown. Jacobsen then booted the extra point and just like that, North Fremont's season was over with a 7-6 loss and an 8-1 record.

Needless to say, the Huskies are more determined than ever to take the field in 2021 and prove that last year's loss was a weather-related fluke. The Huskies did lose senior quarterback Luke Hill, the Nuclear Conference Player of the Year, but otherwise return a solid cast.

The offense will be headlined by senior running backs Jordan Lenz and AJ Hill. They'll run behind an offensive line that features senior Cael Neeley and junior Hank Richardson.

Defensively, Neeley and Richardson will anchor the defensive line, Hill will slot in at linebacker and Lenz will lead the secondary.

Fittingly enough, Firth will travel to North Fremont for the regular season finale on October 22nd. You best believe the Huskies will be ready.
