Timberlake had a rough season in 2014-15, but the White Tigers are doubling down on their effort, commitment and buy-in as they look to improve on their six win total from last season.

Timberlake returns five players from last season’s squad, including all-conference honoree Daniel Smith, a senior forward. He figures to be among the team’s leaders in 2015-16. The White Tigers may be tough to peg this season, as Hanna says they have a number of guys who can lead the scoring line on a given night, as long as their shot percentage improves.

Timberlake had a tough time getting good shots, and getting them to fall, last season, so improving efficiency on the offensive end is a point of emphasis going forward this season.

Defensively, the White Tigers aim to fly around and make things both entertaining for the fans and difficult for the opponents. Hard work won’t be a problem this season, and Hanna says the team’s biggest improvement may come in the form of improved physical and mental toughness – though it still needs to be tested in game situations ahead of what may prove to be a difficult path in the Intermountain League. That toughness could be the difference in what otherwise may be a balanced league in terms of talent.

It’ll be the tougher team, as well as the one that is willing to do the littlest of little things to precision, that wins out most nights, and the White Tigers certainly hope it’s them more often than not.
