How did Prairie end up a four seed? They were #2 in the power rankings, stayed at #2 in both polls throughout the year...how did that happen?

They use Max Preps ranking to determine seeding. Idaho Sports had an article explaining what was used by Max Preps on their ranking system. But that is why Prairie is #4 seed.

please let me know...
I honestly have no dog is this issue and don't root for prairie at all.... I'm from southern Idaho... but a travesty has take place with an undefeated team winning the best conference in IA football in Idaho the past few years at least and this year... yet they are a 4th seed like they barely made it in the playoffs??!! This is why you don't use subjective polls for ranking playing with kids hard work here. They deserve a chance to play Raft river for the state title. Not a semi finals. All fans of high school football lost here. The top bracket is so clearly stacked, while Oakley who lost to raft river... Has a clear shot to win the title with a cheese bracket in the bottom. Who puts all the best teams from one conference in a state bracket all on 1 side? Seriously, someone talk to me! schedule a phone call please asap. Who are the geniuses who approved such a horrendous playoff format? How can i vote or run for their office? They should not be in charge of such choices... Max prep is not reliable and shows it right here. They don't even show the formula for how they rank teams. This is not a clear representation of the Best football in Idaho small schools for how they matched up these teams. The other 1a bracket is a mess too with the best teams playing early on. Joke.

wow someone messed up
the fact that 2 TWO DOSE! 2 teams are ranked ahead of an undefeated team who has 4 conference opponents in an 8 team playoff format making it and prairie beat them all. They earned a number 2 seed at least if not 3 seed in these playoffs. Lapwai would of wiped the floor with Butte country... Again, I'm an odjective observer and no ties to the teams up north. I just know the best football the past decade in IA has mostly been played up north and East somewhat. Truely a mistake trusting a poll by people who don't know the teams and who is good and not. Why a committee voted to trust a messed up max preps poll is beyond me. Again, the real people who pay the price are the kids, families, teams, and fans who all now can't see the best teams play for state title games because of some yahoo who doesn't know 8 man Idaho football small school ball. Horrible mistake I pray is fixed. I'd be a voice for the committee deciding these things if the people their are so incompetent. No way a 2 teams who played mostly lesser opponents and both have a loss are better than prairie. At least they got Notus at 6th right. But wow Butte county or Oakley just got and easy road to the title game. Shame on all who where in charge of this.

Praire didn't deserve to bein the top 5 all year
Obviously Maxpreps did have it wrong. Praire was over ranked and should have been seeded lower than #4. The rest of the teams are seeded about right. District 4 is where it is. Whitepine might be tough with in its district but it's showing in the past few years, district 4 is dominating. As for Butte county, they're being way over looked and are a hardcore tough physical football team that has every chance to be in the championship game. I'm saying that being a District 4 fan. Good luck to those still in.
